PNSQC Quality Jam 2026 - Kick Off the Year with Ideas, Insight, and Inspiration

Join the software quality community on January 22, 2026 for the PNSQC Quality Jam, our annual lightning-talk event that officially kicks off the PNSQC Call for Papers and sets the tone for the year ahead.

A long-standing PNSQC tradition, the Quality Jam features fast-paced 8-minute talks from leaders and practitioners across software testing, quality engineering, leadership, and emerging technologies. These short, idea-driven sessions are designed to spark conversation, inspire new perspectives, and help shape future conference submissions.

This year the speaker lineup includes:

  • "Testing the Future: From Testing Code to Testing Intelligence" with Premi Vinayagam  from Jama software
  • "The OWASP Top 10 Isn’t a Vulnerability List—It’s a Mirror: What 2025 Tells Us About Supply Chain Security" with Caroline Wong
  • "Test Plans Made Easy: Saying a Lot By Saying Very Little" with Wayne Roseberry
  • "Every Day Use of MCP" with Joseph Petsche
  • "Formally Secure Hardware with Rust" with Calvin Deutschbein
  • "Lessons Learned in AI Engineering" with Mitch White
  • "Software Quality by Example as a Senior Engineer" with Mark Kleinhaus
  • "How Product Management Supports Quality" with Justin Wolf

This event is sponsored in part by PLUS QA.  PLUS QA makes software testing simple.

The evening begins with networking and refreshments.

This hybrid event will be held in Portland, Oregon, with a live online option available.

PNSQC 2026 Free Workshop Day

Software quality is changing fast — AI is reshaping how we test, how we make decisions, and where human judgment matters most. This free, in-person workshop day is designed to help practitioners build real skills, not just hear about trends.

On January 23, PNSQC is hosting a full day of hands-on, instructor-led workshops focused on practical quality skills — from foundational testing practices to emerging AI-driven approaches.
This is not a marketing event.

It is a community learning day, led by experienced practitioners, designed to give you techniques, frameworks, and perspectives you can apply immediately.
As a nonprofit conference, PNSQC’s mission is Enabling Quality Through Community.
This workshop day is part of that mission — lowering barriers to learning, strengthening our local quality community, and helping practitioners stay relevant as the industry evolves.

Seats are limited, and advance registration is required.

This workshop day is ideal for:

  • Software testers and quality engineers
  • Test leads, QE managers, and SDETs
  • Practitioners navigating AI’s impact on testing
  • Professionals who want hands-on learning, not sales pitches

You will get the most value if you are actively involved in delivering or influencing software quality today.

Morning Workshops (8:30 AM – 12:00 PM)

  • AI Orchestration: Dual Stewardship with John Cvetko.  Explore how humans and AI can collaboratively manage quality, risk, and decision-making in modern systems.

  • QA Re-Bootcamp with Heather Wilcox & Bhushan Gupta.  Refresh foundational testing skills and examine modern quality practices through engaging, activity-based learning.

Afternoon Workshops (1:00 PM – 4:30 PM)

  • Integrate MCP into your workflow with Joe Petsche  - We will work with a variety of MCP servers to connect your quality apps and find ways to do your job better and faster. Come with your apps and we will connect in to your scenarios too.

  • Writing Practical Test Plans, Fast and Easy with Wayne Roseberry. This workshop teaches a pragmatic, lightweight approach to writing effective test plans—fast.
